After a mostly calm month , march is starting to show some indications of a rainy end to the month over most of the Arabian Peninsula and into the Gulf Region. two systems are expected to pass over the area starting tonight, the first system is going to produce some heavy rains and thunderstorms across much of the north and north east of Saudi Arabia including Kuwait from today up until Monday. there is a slight chance that these showers will reach parts of central and eastern Saudi Arabia including Bahrain by Monday. The 2nd system is supposed to be more aggressive and is going to start to affect the area by Tuesday night through Friday, central regions including Riyadh can expect heavy thunderstorms to develop by Tuesday through Thursday, the system will move east to south east by the weekend and will affect Bahrain. Qatar, and then through to the UAE, so emirates get ready for some rain finally !!

A low pressure system with a cold front is expected to pass over north east parts of Saudi Arabia and then moving to the central and eastern parts of Saudi Arabia including Bahrain and Qatar. This system is expected to produce passing thunderstorms which might be strong and sudden. at this time the system seems to be defined and the chances are good.

Posted: April 12, 2012 in Meweather

Severe weather is expected in the coming 48 hours over the eastern province of saudi Arabia including Jubail and into Dhahran , Dammam, and into bahrain and Qatar. Very strong thunderstorms are expected to develop over these areas , with strong winds and hail possible. Very heavy rain showers are expected to produce flash floods in low areas. Weather modules are showing a very severe convective area over the above areas. Stay on the watch and stay safe.

Weather system is affecting much of the Gulf with sudden thunderstorms developing mostly in the afternoon from central areas of saudi Arabia then moving east to the Gulf including bahrain and Qatar. This system is expected to continue further into the end of this month with days for partial sun shine to days of thunderstorms mostly increasing to the end of this month and into the beginning of april.

The cold front that produced the strong winds and picked up all the sand possible in the past 24 hours has passed across from the north to the south of the Arabia. The Sand storms were also followed by some thunderstorms across much of the north and north east parts of Arabia extending to Bahrain and some parts of Qatar with light showers. The current modules are predicting a strong high pressure system to dominate the region for the coming few days with sun shine and cool weather across much of Arabia. for now we are back to praying for more rain !!

Where is the Rain ! Feb 22 2012 Update

Posted: February 22, 2012 in Meweather

Well i have not been posting any predictions since i don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel for the Gulf or Saudi Arabia yet ! though there has been plenty of systems crossing the area more to the north of Saudi Arabia and into the middle east the past few weeks. These systems have produced above than average rain fall for the middle east this year ! and excellent snow accumulation that will for sure allow skiers to enjoy a lovely season !!
The current prediction for the Gulf area and Saudi Arabia is still looking very calm, the closest slight possibility of rain will be this week across some parts of the western region and then extending to the north and east of Saudi Arabia. Though rain fall and strength of this system seem to be very weak but lets hope for the best.
The rest of the Middle east will still see more systems crossing over in the coming week or so with more rain expected through out this weekend.
Hope we all pray for some rain in the Gulf !!

A low Pressure system is expected to form over the western regions of Saudi Arabia including Jeddah and Makkah as well as Yanbou , thunderstorms are expected to develop later today and tomorrow. a weather watch is now in affect for these areas. modules are showing moderate rain but caution is advised.

Settled weather is expected to continue for the coming few days over much of the Gulf extending to the north and north east of Saudi Arabia. there is a chance of some showers this weekend by Thursday / Friday over Jeddah. current modules are not showing a severe system but some rain could be expected. slight increase in midday temperatures across the Gulf, while lows at night will still be below 10 C over most of the central and north to north east parts of Arabia. on the other hand, a strong low system will be affecting the Mediterranean in the coming 48 hours with very heavy rain and wind. snow can also be expected in higher elevations.
